Simchat Torah (Mareh Cohen)

On Simchat Torah (night) the crowd sang songs and one of them is "Mareh Cohen". this is the song:

Mareh Cohen

At the last 2 lines of the song a father put me on his shoulders and I shouted the last 2 lines. I finished saying (shouting) the last 2 lines and the crowd Began to say:

אמת מה נהדר היה כהן גדול בצאתו מבית קדשי הקדשים בשלום בלי פגע.

and the father I was on jumped and I jumped too (on his shoulder).

Great, Shaltiel. You did it again, and we didn't miss it because we check your blog every day.

The father must have been surprised when you jumped also.

And now this Simchath Torah story is online for all to enjoy.

Always with love,

Grandma and Grandpa

Dear Shaltiel,
"Mareh Cohen" is the best song! Do you sing it now at the Shabbos table? Do you sing it on rides in the car?
Love,
Bubbe

You put the "Mareh Cohen" tune in our heads and this week at the Shabbos table we sang the melody to "Shir Ha-Maalot". Have you ever tried that?
Love,
Bubbe

Hi Shaltiel! You had a really exciting Simchat Torah!!! We sing Mareh Cohen in our minyan also. We really like the song and the tune! The first time we heard it was when your father wanted to have the band play it when your Ema's and Abba's chupa was over. You asked the RAv good questions. Be sure to let us know the answer for the Shema. Love, Savta
