Gabai Junior

Every shabbos i come to maariv half an hour early and tidy up the side room for the 6:00 minyan. Because i still have a lot of time i clear up the main room which means: fix all the seats, put all the siddors away and fold all the talis. After shmone esreh i set up havdalah and get a teenager to be the mavdil. Because i do all this i'm guessing i'll be a gabai when i older.

Shaltiel,

This blog post certainly was correctly named "Gabai Junior".

You certainly are doing all the right jobs to be an expert gabai. but we are sure that as you get older, that won't be your main goal. We think you may want to be the Prime Minister or the President of a company. Those titles will enable you to set an example for an even larger group of Jews, in addition to those that go to Shul.

What you are doing now is preparation for doing work in an organized manner which gets the attention and approval of everyone who sees you. Cheers for Shaltiel -- a great boy with the makings of a great man.

Love,
Grandma and Grandpa
